It's always exciting as we assemble several dune-buggies and off-road vehicles together to head out to the valley for a day on the desert. You never know what you'll find. Each outing brings a new experience. Today we were looking for one of several waterfalls you might find. Of course they are not the large photographical type but are always an unexpected find.
|Looking up into the soft covered hills entering into the valley||Travelling across a dry-lake bed (sometimes deep-sand)|
|Now getting into the rocky terrain, lots of pretty stones here||Reaching ever higher into the hills on the western slope|
|Looking up into the majestic cardon cacti, many years old||Reaching the arroyas with huge rocks and dry streams|
|Ah! There is a wet stream, but alas I'm too tired to go more||What the others saw as they progressed another 1/2 mile.|
It was worth the effort.
The trip took about 2 hours out, lunch, and 2 hours return.
DO NOT GO OUT ALONE. ALWAYS TAKE ANOTHER BUGGY. JUST LOOSING A SCREW MEANS YOU COULD WALK MILES BACK TO CIVILIZATION.
|And there you have it, about 8 feet of pure clean water.|
I did not get ..
