The communities both north and south of the Saltito road are in good shape. Although there was some local flooding, this is not a major arroyo. Washes (immediate foreground) occurred on both sides of the Saltito road but the water quickly filtered into the sand. |
The Saltito road (right two thirds of this picture) shoulders are heavily eroded in the area around Los Medianos. A 2 foot drop is seen on the left hand side of the picture. However, the road is completely passable for all vehicles and the management have done an excellent job of filling all major faults in the surface. |
A typical camp site is shown here and it has weathered the storm essentially unscathed. Even the huge rock fire pit (to the left) has its roof framework intact and is ready for an autumn evening party. (Rob - Hint!) |
