The Arragon Market - now Vaquita III

Many long-time residents will remember the Arragon Market on Calzada Chetumal at the corner of Mar Jonico. For many years it was our premiere supermarket in town. It passed through several name changes, recently being El Sembrador, and currently Vaquita III.

It is presently (February 2009) being remodelled - and what a difference it is making! The main entrance on Chetumal is now also the checkout location and the interior is being restructured.

One thing that is particularly exciting to see for us vegetable-lovers is the new selection of fresh vegetables and fruit. A notice proclaims:

"Domingos dia de fruitas y verduras"

but it is likely you can buy them any day of the week, not just on Sundays.

Good potatoes for baking and boiling, also a variety of onions.

New refrigerated compartments at the meat counter make the display of merchandise far more appetizing.
