Be sure to check our tide calendar here for the day you are planning your trip, as you want the tide to be "high" to cool off the pools. (Without the cooling effect of the sea water, you will find the temperatures around 130 F which can scald you.)

Here is an update on gasoline costs (3 July):

San Felipe gasoline(regular unleaded - full service with windshields washed!)costs: $2.55/gallon, diesel $2.10/gallon

San Diego self-service gasoline costs: $4.56/gal , diesel $4.99/gal

Note that regular unleaded in Mexicali costs 10% more than in San Felipe, also that the value of the peso is rising (or the dollar is falling) and is now around 10.3 peso/dollar.

The demand for cheap diesel by truckers and motorists in San Diego and other border cities is causing temporary shortages at service stations in Tijuana and Mexicali. Regular and premium gasoline are available and there are no supply problems for gas or diesel in San Felipe. (more)
