TONY REYES FISHING TOURS
B/M TONY REYES
SAN FELIPE, BAJA MEXICO
Sunday JUNE 27 to Friday JULY 2, 2004
The San Clemente 'Garage Door Charter' enjoyed a great week of fishing with very mild weather; with mild breezes making the daytime comfortable. There was very good yellowtail fishing. They took jigs readily which was fortunate as bait was difficult to set due to lack of squid at San Francisquito. Cabrilla of good size and Spotted Bass were plentiful. Bass were plentiful. A few Dorado were seen, but none were caught. We are looking forward to our Aug 29 trip when the Dorado should be happening.
The new pangas and motors (Yamaha 50HP 4-stroke) are smooth and quiet. Capt. Tony Reyes, Jr. and crew were outstanding. Great service, food and the boat was spotless. They are taking great pride in the new boat.
Hi Tom
This trip we started at Snake Island. Fishing was slow in the morning but in the afternoon it was a lot better at Raza Islands trolling with Mirror lures and jigs. The next morning we were fishing at San Lorenzo Island where we found yellow tail up to 25 pounds. On this trip it was hard to make bait because the Giant Squid were so thick in San Francisquito Bay. We came back to Raza Island where it was great fishing again. Then we moved to Smith Island in the afternoon. Fishing there was slow. We tried to make bait at La Gringa Point. It was hard because of the full moon. We fished the coast area the next morning. On the last day we caught lots of bait at Gonzaga Bay and fished at Enchanted Islands friday morning.
We had grat weather all week.
