If you have any doubts as to how secure your computer system is and how its firewall is configured, we strongly advise you to avoid using wireless hotspots. A poorly configured computer can be accessed by other people with wireless computers in the vicinity. They can potentially copy and read all the files on your machine without your knowledge and they could install spyware or viruses in your system.

Warning 2: Wireless computer links are never 100% secure. When in doubt, use an ethernet connection.

For sensitive transactions (bank transactions, stock trading, portfolio adjustments....) we strongly recommend that you use an internet provider, such as The Net, who will allow you to connect to the house ethernet network. This way, no wireless transmission is involved and a thief sitting in a van on the street cannot pick up your keystrokes.
