There is a branch of the State University, Universidad Autonoma de Baja California (UABC), in San Felipe. This branch deals primarily with the teaching of English to Spanish-speaking residents, though other courses are offered periodically. The high schools, junior high and primary schools are very busy and very crowded. There has been an explosion in the younger population of this region in the past five years.
