The drug store is family owned and operated by Tavo Garcia, with very qualified and helpful staff. The store's been in operation at this location since 1952 offering a wide variety of items including perfume, gifts, make-up, baby clothes, turtle cream, baptism and first-communion accessories. Tavo jokes: "Bad English spoken here," although his English is actually very good.

Throughout these years the business has developed a trusted name in the community, and is popular with the Snowbirds that arrive for the winter season. Very few drugs in Mexico need a prescription, but those that do, are restricted to doctor's orders. Many drugs issued under prescriptions in the U.S. do not need prescriptions here.

Stop by Playa del Oro every Friday night and see Tavo wailing on the drums in the popular local band "Third Generation."
