Now we are on our own, heading out on Highway 40, across to Arizona to waste time on July 2nd and 3rd before travelling up to Las Vegas on July 4th traffic.

Get your kicks on Route 66, a common phrase used to describe this rough winding road, all there was in the early 1900's.

Oatman has a history as a gold mining center but now boasts hundreds of thousands of visitors each year. Filmakers choose the area for making feature films such as "How the West was Won", "Edge of Eternity", "Universal Soldier", "Foxfire"., as well as commercials, calendars and historical documentaries.
