SECOND CHILDHOOD

by Lea Ament

WHERE IS that second childhood

It's time it came around

I want to take off all my clothes

And sit down on the ground

I'm sick and tired of all this stuff

Remembering all the rules

Forget the politicians

Let's get out the booze

Where is the cholesterol?

I know it's here somewhere

Let's eat a lot of chocolate

And, forget to comb our hair

I want to lie down on the earth

And, look for shooting stars

I want to dress up like the girls

Who hang around the bars

Lot's go sneak behind the barn

And, have ourselves a smoke

Then we'll see a matinee

And drink an ice-cold Coke

I thought somehow when I got old

I'd get to make the rules

I now suspect that that idea

Is shared by other fools.

If you should Come across me

Swimming in the nude

I hope you'll just say "Right on, girl."

Instead of being rude,

Take off your clothes and join me

Don't stop to contemplate

You deserve a little fun

The water feels just great!
