Here is a fair translation of the above article
in it's entirety.
An article by Samuel Murillo/PN in the LA CRONICA
stated that tourists are complaining that they are not getting answers from
the authorities regarding public security. Members who reside in San Felipe
complained before the Municipal delegate, Raymundo Jiminez Leon, of several
robberies in their areas and they indicated that they are not getting any
assistance from the Municipal Police or the Ministerial of the State.
Articles in the Internet www.sanfelipe.com.mx stated there
have been several situations which have occurred in their areas which could
drive away tourists interested in visiting this city said one North American
who says they personally have had two problems with thieves.
The Municipal delegate, Raymundo Jiminez Leon said that they
have already had a meeting with a group of North Americans which lacked the
presence of a representative of the PGJE. For this reason they have decided
to have another meeting on Wednesday to look for a solution.
A representative of this group of North American residents
indicated that there have been eight occasions of robberies in their group
alone. Nevertheless, the Public Ministry of the Common Law, Gerald Andrade
Espinoza, argued that the agency was not aware of the matter. The areas whose
residents have complained of robberies are in the division of Las Palmas,
the Villas of San Francisco and in various communities located to the South
and to the North respectively.. Katherine Hammontre, of the Internet, mentioned
that next Wednesday they will have another meeting with authorities of the
city to discuss this and to look for a solution.
The North Americans also complain that when they go to the
police to explain the details, it often takes from one to three hours, which
gives sufficient time for the thieves to flee. Agents of the Municipal Police
argue that they can not take preventative measures until something has actually
happened. They suggested that those who have been affected present their problems
to the Public Ministery.
